Forgive But Don’t Always Forget

Some things in our past need to be remembered. Even after the struggle ends, memory keeps us from repeating what almost broke us. Forgiveness frees the heart, but remembrance protects the future.

When we remember the nights we cried until we couldn’t cry anymore…
When we remember thinking we would never be okay…
When we remember being alone with no one coming to help…

We don’t revisit pain to open old wounds. Those moments can teach us many lessons: what we survived, what we can never tolerate again, and what boundaries we must protect moving forward.

Some memories are painful, yes. But they guide us, warn us, and help us avoid repeating cycles that once cost us our peace.

Remembering isn’t living in the past.
It’s learning from it so we can walk into the future better prepared.
